What’s your design ethos when it comes to florals?

I really enjoy garden-style florals. I want the work to have movement and life, to cause the eye to dance around the arrangement and look like it has been plucked from an outdoor space.

Best advice for the person who has a black thumb / bad at flowers but wants to start?

I would say if florals speak to you, don’t be afraid of them! Just jump in. Go to Trader Joe’s or the grocery store and grab a few things and start arranging. Floral arranging is a muscle that gets stronger the more you flex it!

One to three top holiday decorating tips and tricks you can share?

Aim to have three to five different elements in your design options. Look for hardy items that will last the month. Try to add a touch of special texture, citrus element, or berry to give your design more visual interest.

Dream project: if you could design any floral installation, what would it be?

A wild, organic, outdoor ground floral installation with soft pastel colors and Lake Como as a backdrop.

You have a free day to spend with your family in Charleston, what are you doing?

Grabbing the parfait and a coffee from Harken or a coffee from Sightsee, hitting station 10 or lower on Sullivan’s Island, spending a few hours on the beach, grabbing a mid-afternoon cocktail from Kingstide on Daniel Island, and then ending it with dinner at Melfi’s or Wild Olive

What are you putting in your etched vesta case?

My current manifestations that I am drawing in for the future and a few scribbles from my children.
