How do I care for my charms? You can best preserve your jewelry by avoiding exposure to sweat, and chemicals like chlorine, perfume, makeup and lotions. However, we know that these rules are somewhat unrealistic, and life happens. So, we use gold-filled components, as well as an incredibly-thick plating of 14K gold that will not easily tarnish.
Tarnishing is a bummer, and we want your piece to last forever. If you ever wish to replate your necklace down the road, we can do that for a fee.
Hart's beaded jewelry is strong, but not indestructable due to materials like fragile glass beads and dainty tassels. Avoid banging your wrist against surfaces and tugging the tassels. Don't toss into the bottom of your bag. Remove before skinny-dipping or sweaty downward dogging.
Our signature tassel earrings are handmade with silky rayon tassels. Do not get them wet, as water will lossen the bindings and kink-up the rayon.
We highly recommend storing them in our nifty travel cases to keep the tassels straight. If your tassels get unruly, you can gently straighten them out again under a warm hair dryer. Works like a charm!
At HART, we are obsessed with creating top-quality, soulful jewelry for an attainable price. Our gold jewelry is made-to-last, because we invest in a luxuriously-thick layer of gold-plating over brass. We use 2-3 microns, which is 4x more gold than most industry standards. We proudly partner with boutique American manufacturers to achieve these high standards.
But, let’s be real: if you literally never take off your jewelry to shower or sleep, it will expedite the inevitable tarnish that is inherent to all fashion jewelry, and you may want to consider solid gold instead.
If you treat your jewelry with care, it should last you decades. And, if you never take off or are hard on your jewelry, we invite you to use our re-plating service. Email us for more information.
