When we were little, we thought they were grapes." That's the response a Charlestonian will give when asked about the vivid, violet wisteria vines that bloom in springtime.

Wisteria grows into these beautiful cascades that drip down gates and walls across downtown. They get so big; they resemble purple waterfalls. It's a surreal site, as captured by my friend and local photographer Olivia Rae James on her blog here.
I'm not really a purple girl, but I've been LOVING wearing wisteria with lighter neutrals, especially ivory and gold. Here I am test-driving the topknots for y'all at a vineyard in Barcelona during my friend's wedding last month. Product testing is a tough job that I take very seriously :)
