P.S. I HART THIS: A Lesson from London
I fucked up my London packing, badly. I willfully ignored a chilly, rainy weather forecast and instead committed the sin of “aspirational packing.” All rational planning was destroyed by a delusional mood board of circa 2008 Sienna Miller street style on a sunny day. I landed in London’s chilly dampness with a slip dress and leather jacket. Cute, but impractical.
I forgot that the most stylish women don’t forget who they are (and weather reports) on vacation. They plan outfits in advance around their trusted wardrobe essentials – spicing things up with outerwear, shoes and jewelry. (I did not, however, fail in the jewelry department, mostly because I was able to pack tons of options in this nifty hanging organizer. It’s small, with countless little compartments. Highly recommend).
One rule I didn’t fully overlook was to prioritize neutrals for easy mixing-and-matching. A striped shirt, a navy sweater, denim, leather. Next time I’ll pack more for reality. But here are some London looks that I enjoyed when the sun was out.
