P.S. I HART This: Spring Flings Take 2

There are so many things to love in this season I just had to write a chapter two...

Geraniums

I beamed during the entirety of interior designer Veere Grenney’s lecture during Charleston Design Week. This elegant legend of a man has a serious passion for the chic and simple geranium flower, which he places around his homes from Tangier to London. The next morning, I just had to have one, and hightailed it to Meeting Green to acquire the red-orange bloom, which now radiates joy on my front porch.

Anklets

Flattering, sexy and fun…anklets are going to be the thing this summer. The playful glass beads of our Rainbow Pop bead anklets are fun counterpoints to simple sandals or prim Mary Janes. Head to our King Street store to DIY your own Rainbow Pop anklet...or check out our DIY kits online that can achieve the same look (plus a fun activity!).

If your style is more classic than summer camp, we also offer anklets in our durable, best-selling gold-filled chains. Shop here

Twist Cords

Our new hand-braided Twist Cords channel the chill, vibrant tone of summer.  They make my inner boho-beach-surfer gal persona really, really happy.

The Rainbow Twist Cord was on constant rotation during a getaway to GoldenEye Resort in Jamaica. Pop-on your fave charms and toss over tee-shirts, button downs, and swimsuits for instant gratification.

How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair

This gripping memoir by Safiya Sinclair is gorgeously written, and still has me thinking of it from time to time. Sinclair documents her life growing up under the harsh reign of her Rastafarian father. Not only did it educate me about Jamaican culture and Rastafarian history, it’s a beautiful story about the hardships of family, identity, femininity and more.

Limes…!

Limes for spring, groundbreaking! I’m gaga for the mouth-puckering tartness of lime. My new grocery cart staple is this lazy lime lover’s elixir by Lakewood. All the juice, without the squeeze.

Alison Roman doesn’t publish a bad recipe. Her key lime pie is next on my baking list. Worth the calories.

As for booze, I’m not above using Minute Maid’s Limeade concentrate, which is also a secret favorite cocktail ingredient of the punchy entertaining expert Lulu Powers (watch her inspiring home tour here!). Cheers!

Denise by Hunza G

I’ve had my eye on Denise for a while… she’s the very, very cute ruffle-skirted swimsuit by Hunza G. Flirty, fun, and also a little ridiculous, I know. My wallet fell prey to this black one, which I’m convincing myself is more grown-up. I am tempted to get these mini versions for my girls so we can match. Eek!

Fisherman Sandals

I’ve found myself wearing metallic fisherman sandals a lot lately. The heft, masculinity and clunk factor provide a visually-interesting, grounding counterpoint to what I like to wear on top: usually very short skirts, flowy tops, feminine dresses. Highly recommend these by J. Crew (so comfy and on sale!). This white studded version by Freda Salvadore is super cool. Half size down.
